Join us for a special 2-hour 5Rhythms class led by Alyssa Jurewicz Johns, featuring the vibrant pulse of live percussion by local artist Dave O’Brien (D.o.B.)!
In this class, we’ll move through the 5Rhythms—Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical, and Stillness—guided by the primal heartbeat of live drums.
This is how the practice began: rooted in rhythm, born from beat.
Long before playlists and digital mixes, 5Rhythms was danced solely to the raw sounds of percussion. It wasn’t until the 1980s that recorded music became part of the practice.
This class is a chance to return to the roots. To feel the rhythms alive, immediate, and pulsing through every cell.
The drum invites us deeper into the body, into presence, into relationship—with ourselves, with each other, and with the unified field we create on the dance floor.
All bodies and experience levels are welcome.
Come as you are. Let the drum medicine move you. Let the dance transform you.

Registration : Pre-registration is encouraged, but not required. Cash, Venmo and Card accepted at the door.
